I've been a health and safety specialist since 2015, Since then I've been privileged to play a part in helping businesses navigate the massive changes that have affected their world. I am a Professional Member of NZISM and listed on the HASANZ Register.

I started my Health and Safety career in the extractives sector just as the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016 were being rolled out to industry. This included the need for Quarry Managers to undergo an oral examination to attain their relevant Certificate of Competence (CoC). Helping these guys through this process and seeing the increase in their self-confidence and capability remains one of the highlights of my career to date.

In 2019 I moved to Kraft Heinz and was a member of the small team responsible for all things Health, Safety and Environment for two factories totalling over 2,000 staff. The Covid 19 pandemic hit hard but as an essential business we needed to keep NZ fed. To do this we needed to keep the plant running while adhering to the strict protocols required by MPI and MBIE. The tools I created for communicating with the teams over this time were later used in Kraft Heinz factories around the world.
2020 marked a return to the industry I call 'home', first with a local roading contractor and later as a part of the Fletcher Construction, Higgins Hawkes Bay whanau. In 2023 Cyclone Gabrielle once again turned the world on it's head but the guys and girls in hi-vis pulled out all the stops to get whanau, businesses and communities reconnected.
This industry is amazing, the work we do is so essential but so underrated and our crews are the best people in the world. I look forward to continuing the journey with you.
